Fallback Friday Classic Pic of The Week

Charles Woodson still has to rank among my favorite college football players ever, and probably is my favorite to this day. We all know him as an elite veteran cornerback who won a Super Bowl with Green Bay a couple of years ago, but as a college player he was more than just a great cornerback he was an absolute phenom with athleticism rarely seen in his day.
Woodson was officially pinned at the cornerback position but he was much more than that for the Wolverines. He was, simply put, a playmaker. Put the ball in his hands and he would make jaw-dropping plays. Whether it was returning punts or playing a little two-way wide reciever action, Woodson was always one step away from a touchdown. From the second game of his freshman year at Michigan it became pretty apparent he spewed flash and bled swagger. The kid wasn't meant to be kept off of the field; danger was imminent for opponents anytime he entered a game as a receiver or anytime a quarterback risked throwing his way. In his final year at Michigan(as a junior) Woodson won the Heisman by a landslide over second vote getter Peyton Manning. Probably the most memorable moment of Woodson's career was this punt return against Ohio State:
The picture up top is from Woodson's last game as a Wolverine against Washington State in the '98 Rose Bowl. This interception was a game changer as Michigan won the game 21-16 despite trailing 7-0. This basically sums up Woodson's swagger and athleticism as he rocked a visor for the first and only time in his career, and rocked it perfectly. Nothing better than a freakishly athletic D-back wearing a tinted visor, especially when that D-back was the Heisman.
Woodson started 34 games over three years for the Wolverines compiling 18 INTs and receiving the #11 rank on ESPN's 2007 25 Best Players in College Football History.
