Absolute clown. |
ESPNBoston.Com-Former Boston Bruins player and coach Mike Milbury has been charged with assault and battery on a child after an incident at a pee-wee hockey game.
Milbury, who is currently an NHL analyst for Versus' "NHL Live," as well as the CBC's "Hockey Night in Canada," also was charged with threats to commit a crime and disorderly conduct after allegedly verbally and physically assaulting a 12-year-old boy during a Dec. 9 game at the rink at Larz Andersen Park in Brookline, Mass.
One of Milbury's employers, NBC Sports, said Friday that he had been taken off the air.
"In our discussions with Mike, we both came to the conclusion that he should remain off the air while focusing on his affairs," said spokesman Chris McCloskey in a statement.
Milbury is an assistant coach for his son's team in the league. During an exhibition game, his son got into a scrape with an opponent. According to the Boston Herald, Milbury charged onto the ice and berated and shook the the opposing player.
If you've ever watched a NHL on NBC broadcast you've probably realized two things. First, the broadcast is absolutely spectacular. The game sounds crisp and Doc Emeric is a phenomenal play-by-play guy. Second, the intermission analyst Mike Milbury, is absolute clown. He's as unprofessional as they come, and during the 2010 olympics Milbury showed a serious lack of allegiance to USA. Not only did he not give the Americans any credit during their surprising run to the Silver, he absolutely hopped on the Canadian bandwagon faster Miami sports fans.
Well folks, Milbury got his. This clown was too busy sucking on his own ego that he had to let shake a 12 year old boy right out of his skates. Milbury was so used to chewing out his players as head coach, that he forgot he was coaching a bunch of pee-wee players. Get over yourself bud. Thank the lord he didn't actually hurt the kid, and thank the lord he isn't a part of NBC Hockey coverage anymore. Guess he won't have to be dealing with "Soccer Mom" Pierre McGuire anymore and instead be dealing with hockey mom's in court.
